The 45th ANMOPYC General Assembly showcases the strength of the Sector

On 3 July, the facilities of the Aragón Institute of Technology (ITA) hosted the 45th General Assembly of ANMOPYC, the National Cluster of Public Works, Construction and Mining Machinery Manufacturers, which brings together more than 150 companies and is based in Zaragoza. The meeting demonstrated the strength of the sector, bringing together more than 200 professionals and providing an opportunity to learn about the association's latest activities and to take a comprehensive look at the situation of the national and international market.
The day began with a guided tour of the Aragón Technology Institute, where attendees were able to explore the facilities first-hand and discover the most advanced R&D projects currently under development: a vertical 3D printer capable of constructing facades, hydrogen-powered vehicles and prototypes of autonomous mobile machinery, as well as a practical demonstration of how applied innovation can radically transform the way machinery is built and managed.
Subsequently, our president Rafael Simón opened the general assembly with a welcome message to all attendees, in which he recalled that the cluster is an ecosystem of training, growth and opportunities, working every day to generate added value for our members, defending their interests, facilitating their access to new markets and supporting their technological development.
Internationalisation continues to be a fundamental pillar of our strategy; participation in trade fairs and trade missions has proven to be an effective way to open new markets and consolidate our presence abroad. However, we want to further strengthen our focus on Industry 4.0, committing to innovation, technological development and R&D&I as drivers of our growth. Digital transformation is no longer an option, but a necessity to ensure our competitiveness on the global stage.
The day continued with the approval of accounts, a review of the activities carried out and the main milestones achieved by the association over the last year, and the presentation of action plans for the future, in an exercise of transparency and commitment to our members.
This was followed by the Economic Forum, which presented the current market situation and forecasts for the coming months and was attended by experts in their fields:
Chris Sleight, managing director at Off-Highway Research, who outlined the situation facing the global machinery market and the forecasts for the coming years.
Ricardo Santamaría, Director of Country Risk and Debt Management at Cesce, who presented an analysis of how geopolitical uncertainty impacts the global economy and business decisions.
Martin Joli, Global Head of Strategic Marketing at DLL, explained how to use financing as a tool to gain competitiveness in a world of permanent crisis.
Jean-Michel Aspas, Sales Director at Up Lifting, discussed the growing connection between the civil industry and the defence sector, an increasingly relevant business avenue.
At the same time, we held a Technical Forum focused on the power of data in the machinery industry, which sparked great interest by addressing a crucial issue for the immediate future of the sector: adaptation to the European Union's new digital regulatory framework. The EU's Digital Strategy, together with laws such as the Data Act, the Artificial Intelligence Regulation and the Cyber Resilience Regulation, are marking a turning point in the way machinery is developed, sold and maintained.
This block featured presentations by leading specialists in the topics covered:
Ana Isabel Torre, High Performance Architectures Team Leader at Tecnalia.
M.ª Cristina Martínez-Tercero, Head of Digital Law, Compliance and Intellectual Property at Integra.
Ion Ucin, Business Development Manager at Orbik.
José María Reguillo, Global Director of Sales & Business Development, Diagnostics, Jaltest & OEM Solutions at Cojali.
José Antonio Jiménez, Digitalisation Coordinator at UNE.
Carlos Bello, Head of Industry & Data Services Offering at Hiberus.
Carlos González, Software Engineer in the Digital Technologies Area at ITA.
All of them analysed the challenges faced by companies when implementing this new European regulatory compendium on digitalisation and explored the opportunities offered by data to create innovative business models, optimise processes and improve the competitiveness of the sector.
To round off the day, attendees enjoyed a motivating and inspiring talk by Mago More, who, with his presentation ‘The positive power of change’, conveyed a clear message: adapting is not an option, it is a necessity.
The closing speech of the conference was given by Esther Borao, Director General of the Aragón Institute of Technology.
Once again, the ANMOPYC Assembly was not only a forum for reporting on activities carried out and planned, but also a wonderful opportunity to listen to all our members, hear their opinions, suggestions and contributions, which are essential for continuing to move forward together and making ANMOPYC an even stronger association, better prepared to face the future.
Finalmente, queremos agradecer sinceramente a los patrocinadores que nos han apoyado y ayudado en esta edición de nuestra Asamblea, ya que sin colaboración y compromiso el evento no se habría podido llevar a cabo de la misma forma.
